It's been a while. . . .

Wow-we've been so busy that I haven't updated this in months. Here are a few pictures from our travels during the past month and a half:

We began at Summer Conference, one of our favorite times of every year. MG loved opening her door every morning to find her favorite friends ready and waiting to play princesses, while S enjoyed crawling around the courtyard eating as much dirt as he possibly could get his hands on.
We're so thankful for that fun time in Florida!

We are also grateful for our two weeks of vacation that came a week after SC!

Our first week at the beach was wonderful! We got in good runs, morning time on the beach, afternoons at the pool, fun time eating out and exploring, and I even finished two books for the first time in months. We found out that MG is on the way to becoming an excellent swimmer, and S is proficient at eating shells and sand. They both loved the beach! We also loved our time with the Gayles who brought this whole opportunity about. We are so thankful for good rest for our souls!

From the beach, we traveled across the entire state of NC to a wedding in Tennessee. David got to marry our dear friends while MG had her first flower girl experience. She did great walking down the aisle, but her favorite time by far was hanging out with her big girl bridesmaid friends. The photographer got much better pictures of MG in her dress, but here's a snippet of the rehearsal.

After a fun weekend in Knoxville, we traveled to Montreat to spend a week with my family. We got more rest in a beautiful spot while having slow, relaxed time with my parents. MG loved going to club all week, while S held down the fort by playing guitar with Daddy and hamming it up for his G and Pops. MG also got to experience her first Montreat barn dance.

Party at the Park

Here are some shots from MG's fourth birthday party last Saturday. We had a few of MG's "little" friends and a few of her "big" friends at the park on a beautiful day. The balloons were a hit and MG loved running around with some of her favorite people. I was so proud of how MG cared for and played with her friends--what a big girl she is now! We are so thankful for her--she is such a joy to us!

Free Cone Day

One of our favorite spring traditions in our little town is going to Ben&Jerry's Free Cone Day. It always signifies the end of another semester and school year for us. This year, MG really got into the excitement and capitalized on the day by attending Free Cone Day twice--once with our family and once with our neighbor who begged her to come! What happened to the strict mom that I used to be? This picture of MG and S is special for me because I took their picture by the same tree last year on Free Cone Day. S was itty bitty--my how times have changed!

More Easter Pictures

When we're in the mountains in the summer, one of our favorite things to do is to get spring water together. MG especially enjoyed filling pitchers this weekend.

I'm dreaming of a white. . . Easter.

Although I didn't get a picture of the snow, you might be able to tell from this picture that our Easter was anything but warm. We headed up to the mountains to spend Easter weekend with David's parents, and ended up with snow and ice instead of Easter egg hunts and bunnies. Even though it was freezing, we loved our time with Mimi and Freddie. Thank you for making the trip!

Spring is Here!

The weather has been quite warm during the last week, but the days have been gorgeous. The pear trees and azaleas are blooming, and the leaves have that luscious lime-green shade to them. We have loved being outside! Yesterday, we headed over to campus to run and play. MG insisted on wearing one of her new dresses from Mimi, so I decided to take a few pictures. We are so thankful to live in such a beautiful place!

First Birthday!

On his first birthday, S woke up to pancakes, presents, and a place riding forward next to his sister. I don't know who enjoyed the morning more-S or his sister!
